Identity
On the eve of a serial killer’s execution, a group of strangers find themselves stranded at a remote hotel during a storm. As they try to wait out the night, a killer among them starts to claim victims one by one. Here are a few movie mistakes to look for while watching “Identity”.
· Paris is singing “For He’s a Jolly Good Fellow” to one of her clients. In the front view, she uses her left hand on the whipped creme on the man’s chest and licks it off her finger. It cuts to a rear view, over her right shoulder, and it’s her right hand that she’s licking.
· In the wider view of Ed as he approaches George after the accident, George is yelling “what have you done” and grabs Ed’s coat with his left hand. His hand then drops down to his wife. The scene cuts to an opposite close-view and George is still holding on to Ed’s jacket and he drops his arm again.
· When Caroline Suzanne checks into the hotel and asks for the best room, Larry giver her Room 8. Later, when she steps outside to get better phone reception, it’s shown that she was staying in Room 9.
· Caroline Suzanne is in the rain with a plastic shower curtain trying to get reception on her cell phone. In the close-up, as she stops, she’s holding her cellphone in her right hand. When she turns because she hears something and is murdered, she’s holding the phone in her left hand.
· Paris has a purple strap over her right shoulder when she and Larry are talking about which towns they are from. The strap is close to her neck and over her blouse. Larry asks her why she would want to go back, and the purple strap is now further up on her shoulder, not touching her neck or blouse.
“Identity” (2003) stars John Cusack, Ray Liotta, Amanda Peet, John Hawkes, Alfred Molina, Clea DuVall, John C. McGinley, William Lee Scott, Jake Busey, Pruitt Taylor Vince, and Rebecca De Mornay. It runs 90 minutes and is rated R for strong violence and language.
